The Arizona Diamondbacks have shown recent improvement, going 6-3 in their last nine games.
Two big reasons for that improvement have been rookies Yasmany Tomas and Nick Ahmed, who have grown more comfortable at the plate against big-league pitching.
In a Sanderson Ford Poll Question on ArizonaSports.com, we recently asked our readers which D-backs player has shown the most improvement over the last couple of weeks.
Of the 1,073 votes cast, Tomas (41%) and Ahmed (38%) combined to receive nearly 80 percent of the votes, besting teammates Rubby De La Rosa (7%), Tuffy Gosewisch (7%) and A.J. Pollock (6%).
Tomas is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak and his .349 batting average is tops among National League rookies with at least 100 at-bats on the season.
Ahmed has hit safely in 10 of his last 13 games, batting .381 (16-for-42) with two home runs and eight RBI in that stretch.
