Saunders deal close to completion

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed Joe Saunders on waivers on August 20, and are reportedly very close to trading the veteran left-hander.

MLB on Fox reporter Ken Rosenthal tweeted Saturday night:

Saunders, who is 6-10 with a 4.22 ERA this season, is set to become a free agent so the D-backs may be hoping to get something for him rather than lose him for nothing.
