Suns’ Jalen Smith named to All-Summer League First Team

Phoenix Suns 2020 first-round pick Jalen Smith was named All-Summer League First Team, after an impressive couple of weeks in Las Vegas.

The No. 10 overall pick from a year ago recorded four straight double-doubles in competition, averaging 16.3 points and 12.5 rebounds.

The Suns went 2-3 during Summer League play that featured wins over the Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers. Smith was instrumental in those victories, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 boards against the Nuggets and having 17 and 12 against the Blazers.

Smith didn’t play in the Suns Summer League finale, but made an impact in the four games he did play. He was the the leading scorer for Phoenix in three of them and led the team on the glass in all four games.

Davion Mitchell and Cam Thomas were named co-MVPs of the tournament.
