Anquan Boldin on Larry Fitzgerald: 50-50 chance WR returns to field

Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is a free agent, months after an offseason when he and the team did not provide a statement on if Fitzgerald would return or not.
Week 1 came and went without Fitzgerald on any team, but there’s always the thought of if he comes back.
His former teammate Anquan Boldin was talking with two of Fitzgerald’s other former teammates, Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden, on this subject.
“That’s hard, man. I think it’s 50-50 right now,” Boldin said on the All Things Covered podcast. “Me knowing Fitz and me talking to him, I think if he walks away now he’ll regret not winning a championship. I think that’s the only thing that he feels like is missing off his resume. Then again, in a situation he’s in, he’s been on one team for his entire career.
“When you do that and you’re talking about 17, 18 years, it’s difficult to go somewhere else. It’s difficult just to make that move at the beginning of training camp. But to make that move during the year, where you got to learn a new city, you got to learn players … this is a huge transition in itself. I’d say it’s a 50-50 chance now.”
Fitzgerald discussed his mindset on his new SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio show with Jim Gray in late August.
“For now, I’ll be a radio broadcaster,” Fitzgerald said on Let’s Go. “To be honest with you, I just don’t have the urge to play right now. I don’t know how I’ll feel in September, October, November moving forward, but as of today I just don’t have the urge.
“I think I have to be respectful of that. Football is not one of those games you want to walk out there and play and not be fully engaged and ready to prepare and do the things necessary that you need to do.”
