Footprint Center to host games for 2021 Hoophall West showcase

A four-game showcase featuring top high school basketball teams from across the country at the Footprint Center has been added as part of the ninth annual Hoophall West event.

The Footprint Center’s showcase will take place on Saturday, Dec. 11.

Arizona’s Sunnyslope High School begins the four-game schedule at 4 p.m. against California’s Centennial High School.

Phoenix’s St. Mary’s High School will play against Nevada’s Bishop Gorman High School at 5:30 p.m.

Arizona Compass Prep will meet Virginia’s Oak Hill Academy at 7 p.m. Duke commit Chris Livingston for Oak Hill and UCLA commit Dylan Andrews for AZ Compass Prep are two standout players in the class of 2022.

In addition to those players, Arizona Compass Prep also has two players in the 2023 ESPN 60. Mookie Cook stands out as the No. 1-ranked Arizona prospect in the class of 2023.

LeBron James’ son, Bronny James, and California’s Sierra Canyon High School will headline the final game of the Footprint Center’s showcase against Arizona’s Perry High School. Perry has a Division I commit of its own in Arizona commit Dylan Anderson.

Chaparral High School in Scottsdale will also host Hoophall West games, starting on Wednesday, Dec. 8. The school has hosted Hoophall West games since 2014.

The No. 1-ranked prospect by ESPN in the class of 2022, Dream City Christian’s Shaedon Sharpe, will play on Dec. 8 against Arizona Compass Prep.

California’s Prolific Prep will also play on Dec. 8. Prolific Prep has three players in ESPN’s Class of 2022 top 20, including Oregon commit Dior Johnson and Kansas commit M.J. Rice.

Florida’s Montverde Academy will play games at Chaparral High School on Dec. 9 and 10. Montverde Academy has six players ranked in 2022 ESPN 100, including Duke commit Dariq Whitehead.

Three women’s games are also a part of the Hoophall West showcase. Valley Vista High School senior and Oregon commit Jennah Isai headlines the showcase’s first game on Dec. 8.
