Landry Shamet is the latest Phoenix Sun to be bit by the injury bug.

The guard suffered an ankle injury in the team’s 115-110 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday and did not return.

Shamet also missed Tuesday night’s 121-111 win over the Brooklyn Nets due to the ailment.

On Wednesday, Suns general manager James Jones told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo that Phoenix hopes to get the guard back prior to All-Star weekend Feb. 18-20.

“That’s the hope,” James said. “It’s an ankle sprain, so we’ll see. I expect him to be probably out at least seven days and then from there we’ll just go day to day, see how he feels.”

Shamet joins Frank Kaminsky (right knee stress reaction), Abdel Nader (right knee injury management), Cam Payne (right wrist sprain) and Dario Saric (right ACL rehab) as Suns currently on the shelf.

Phoenix just got back starting center Deandre Ayton (right ankle sprain) and forward Jae Crowder (left wrist contusion) after missing seven and four games, respectively.

And with Feb. 10’s trade deadline quickly approaching, the Suns GM doubled down on his previous statements about loving his team and not necessarily looking to make any moves.

“Nope, it doesn’t,” James said when asked if Shamet’s injury changed his strategy. “I’ve said it and I’ll say it again, I like my team and where we are. I’m looking forward to us trying to improve internally.

“We’re a really good team. We’re the best team in the NBA and that’s for a reason. Our guys are playing well and we’ve done it despite injuries and inconsistent lineups. So I think we’ll be focused on making sure we continue to progress as we look at the next 30 games.”

The Suns go for win No. 12 in a row against the Hawks in Atlanta on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
