The Dallas Mavericks were hit with a $25,000 fine on Friday for violating league rules regarding bench decorum during Game 2’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns, the NBA announced.

The league states that several players and members of the Mavericks coaching staff stood away from the bench and “were on or encroaching upon the playing court” during Phoenix’s 129-109 victory over Dallas on Wednesday night.

Entering play, the Suns hold a 2-0 series lead over the Mavericks thanks to a pair of home victories at Footprint Center.

Deandre Ayton led the way in the series opener with 25 points to go along with eight rebounds in the 121-114 win.

In Game 2, it was Booker with the hot hand. the guard dropped 30 points across 36 minutes, highlighted by a trio of back-to-back-to-back three balls, on 11-of-19 shooting (5-of-8 from long range). He also added four assists and four rebounds.

Turning in a stellar performance right there with Booker was point guard Chris Paul.

Paul recorded 28 points, eight assists (a game high) and six rebounds in the win. Fourteen of his points came in the fourth quarter alone. He shot a 11-of-16 from the field over 36 minutes of action.

The Suns take on the Mavericks on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
