Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner was ruled questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the third quarter.

Conner exited the game late in the first half with a ribs injury, the team announced.

The veteran running back had a strong start to Week 5 with 55 yards on nine carries in the first 30 minutes. He also caught a pass for eight yards.

Darrel Williams started the second half at tailback with Conner absent from the sideline out of the break. However, Williams headed to the locker room during the possession, and Eno Benjamin took over.

Williams was also ruled questionable to return with a knee injury.

Jonathan Ward left the game earlier, leaving the Cardinals with one healthy running back. Ward was ruled out with a hamstring issue.

Conner has been banged up this season with multiple ailments. He injured his ankle in Week 2 against the Las Vegas Raiders after getting rolled up on and was questionable for Week 3.

He played through it, but landed on the ensuing injury report with a knee issue.

Conner has not missed a game this season despite the injuries.

The Eagles led Arizona 17-10 early in the third quarter.
