Jeremiyah Love listed as RB2 on Cardinals’ 1st depth chart of preseason

GLENDALE — The Arizona Cardinals’ first depth chart of the year dropped on Sunday in preparation for the Hall of Fame game against the Carolina Panthers.

And there is no shortage of takeaways as games get that much closer.

Let’s dive right in:

Jeremiyah Love is listed as RB2. Don’t freak out

Yes, Jeremiyah Love is going to be a focal point of the Cardinals’ offense for years to come.

No, he is not listed as RB1 on the first depth chart of the year.

And that’s OK!

The depth chart is saying what we’ve all seen at State Farm Stadium through two blocks of training camp practices.

A sign we are getting closer to football games!

It’s Tyler Allgeier getting the first looks with the first-team offense, with Love right behind him.

Concerned? You shouldn’t be. Love is going to get his.

Either or at some key positions

Nothing like some “or” usage on an NFL depth chart!

Arizona didn’t shy away from throwing in the caveats at multiple defensive positions.

The most notable being starting defensive tackle, where it’s Darius Robinson OR Dante Stills.

Robinson has been a camp standout, though Stills continues to be a big piece to coordinator Nick Rallis’ defensive equation.

CB2 is in the same boat, too, with Denzel Burke OR Max Melton listed at the position.

That’s been one of the more entertaining battles this camp, and it’s clear the team is taking notice.

Nose tackle (Roy Lopez OR Andrew Billings) and outside linebacker (Zaven Collins OR Baron Browning) two more positions with the flexible moniker.

Andrew Wingard with an edge over Rabbit Taylor-Demerson

Another fun battle to watch this camp has been between safeties Andrew Wingard and Rabbit Taylor-Demerson.

They’ve gone back and forth so far, though Wingard gets the starting spot opposite Budda Baker on Sunday’s depth chart.

Isaiah Adams holds firm over Chase Bisontis

There are still question marks around Adams both on and off the field, but his status as the starting right guard remains.

That’s been the case throughout camp, with rookie Chase Bisontis clearly still working through some growing pains.

How Bisontis looks this preseason could help change that thinking, as he has started to pop a little more.

Jayden Williams next man up at right tackle

Another trend seen at camp, rookie Jayden Williams is getting some more looks near the top of the depth chart.

He’s currently listed as RT2 behind starter Elijah Wilkinson.

How much can the seventh-round rookie press the veteran this camp?

Carson Beck still QB3

With Jacoby Brissett back in the fold, Gardner Minshew II moved to QB2 and Carson Beck to QB3 during camp practices.

That’s exactly how it’s lined up on the depth chart. No surprises (yet).

Ihmir Smith-Marsette in the return game

As expected, Devin Duvernay is holding down both kick and punt return spots.

The next man up for both, though, is Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Not Max Melton or Michael Wilson.

Smith-Marsette has been a big riser this camp for his pass-catching abilities.

Trey Benson listed as RB4

James Conner has yet to take part in 11-on-11 drills, though still sits ahead of Trey Benson on the depth chart.

Benson has shown some burst since his return to team drills, but clearly still has work to do to make up ground.

How things are trending, the running back could end up being the odd man out in the room via trade or release.
