The Arizona Cardinals signed punter Jack Browning and safety Josh Minkins on Tuesday, the team announced.

The move comes after Cardinals punter Blake Gillikin picked up a groin injury during pregame warmups on Saturday, which forced Arizona into having kicker Chad Ryland punt in the preseason loss to the Cowboys.

Browning most recently played for the Orlando Storm of the UFL.

After signing with the Buffalo Bills in 2024 as an undrafted free agent out of San Diego State, he later spent time as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

Browning has played in a total of five NFL games, all for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024.

Cardinals add safety depth after Rabbit Taylor-Demerson exits with rib injury

The Cardinals also signed Minkins, who likewise most recently played for the UFL’s Storm.

The move to add safety depth comes after Rabbit Taylor-Demerson exited the Cardinals-Cowboys exhibition with a rib injury. Taylor-Demerson was trailing Andrew Wingard for the starting role opposite Budda Baker.

Minkins signed with the New England Patriots in 2025 as an undrafted rookie out of Cincinnati.

He is yet to appear in an NFL game but played in 51 games collegiately (between Cincinnati and Louisville) and made 28 starts. He tallied 144 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, 18 passes defensed, four interceptions, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
