Former ASU RB Raleek Brown scores twice in Texas debut

Fifth-year running back Raleek Brown was one of Arizona State’s highest-profile departures in the transfer portal this offseason, and he made his presence felt quickly in his Texas debut.

The Longhorns running back took a pitch from quarterback Arch Manning 13 yards to the end zone about halfway through the second quarter of Texas’ opener against Texas State to give the Longhorns a 21-0 lead.

Brown added his second touchdown of the afternoon in the third quarter, racing 21 yards for a score to put Texas up 49-7.

The new addition had 34 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries and added one catch for 11 yards in the Longhorns’ 59-7 win over the Bobcats.

The 5-foot-9 speedster transferred from USC to ASU in 2024 and broke out as a Sun Devil in 2025. Brown rushed for 1,141 yards and four touchdowns across 12 games and added 34 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns.

His 2025 season with ASU was the first season since his freshman year (2022-23) at USC that Brown played more than two games.

Brown led the Sun Devils in rushing yards in his breakout junior year, highlighted by a 255-yard performance against Colorado, which set the program record for rushing yards in a road game.
