Geraldo Perdomo returns to Diamondbacks lineup after being hit by line drive
While Arizona gets Perdomo back, outfielder Corbin Carroll has the day off. Carroll's last true day off (with the exception of team off days) was July 20.

Shortstop Geraldo Perdomo is back in the Arizona Diamondbacks starting lineup Monday after leaving Sunday’s game with a head contusion.
Perdomo was struck in the helmet between first and second base by a line drive off Ketel Marte’s bat, sending the shortstop to the ground.
After taking a few minutes to recover, Perdomo was able to walk off on his own power, seemingly in positive spirits.
D-backs fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the 26-year-old back in the lineup, hitting leadoff in Monday’s day game against the Kansas City Royals.

The Diamondbacks star had two hits Sunday and three in his last nine at-bats, including two doubles. Carroll was in a 3-for-40 slump prior to Sunday.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. will make his return to the lineup after being activated from the 10-day injured list on Sept. 1.

Right-handed pitcher Derek Law, whom the Diamondbacks activated at the end of August, will get the start in what will be a bullpen game for Arizona. Law has allowed one run on four hits and a walk across his 4.2 innings.
Jose Cabrera is expected to get at least a couple of innings as well.

Wouldn't you want to give a player an off day when in a slump? Not when they're starting to hit the ball.
Is Fernandez still on the roster?
Good news all around. Contributions to the Diamondback's quest to make the playoffs has been a mix of ups and downs. That Gurriel is working his way back hopefully will deliver some results. Ketel was thrown in the dumpster by sportswriters and wanna be experts who think they know it all, but as I hoped and expected Ketel has delivered up some good hits, a home run and some great plays on defense. Maybe when Corbin Carrol joins back in after a day off the Diamondbacks will get a few more of his great triples. Overall, I've been surprised at times to witness the contributions of the entire roster, with Lawlar, Arenado(coming out of a slump), Moreno, Tawa, Waldschmidt, Vargas and even newbie Nootbaar making key contributions to win games. Go Diamondbacks!
