For many Houston Texans fans, defensive lineman J.J. Watt is already a super hero.

A three-time Pro Bowler and First-Team All-Pro as well as a two-time AP Defensive Player of the Year, the 26-year-old is arguably the most dominant defensive player in the NFL and is certainly one of the league’s biggest stars.

Part of what makes him so great, though, has nothing to do with his accomplishments on the field. Watt is incredibly charitable, and has pretty much become a regular in our Character Counts section for his many good deeds.

He’s back, and this time because, as ESPN.com’s Tania Ganguli noted, Watt spent his off day this week dressed up as Batman while visiting kids at the Texas Children’s Hospital.

This Tuesday, Watt stopped by Texas Children’s Hospital’s for a Halloween party. He spoke in a husky Batman voice as he shook hands with several adults. He posed with his batwings outstretched. He signed autographs. He participated in party activities: foosball, decorating pumpkins, etc.

The Texans’ website posted a video highlighting part of the afternoon, with a full recap of his day set to air on NBC’s “The Today Show” Sunday morning.
