The Arizona Diamondbacks are the talk of this offseason, acquiring premium starting pitchers Zack Greinke and Shelby Miller, and the reports say they still aren’t done yet.

Starting pitcher Mike Leake, the 28-year-old Arizona State product, is still being targeted by the Diamondbacks.

This could be considered a surprise after the amount of assets the D-backs have used on pitching, but they are still attempting to sign Leake.

The D-backs are not alone in their pursuit for Leake, however, with other National League teams trying to sign the starter.

The D-backs have already been linked with Leake this offseason, even after the Greinke signing.

Leake spent his first six seasons with the Cincinnati Reds before being traded to the San Francisco Giants in late July. He has made at least 20 starts a season in his career and has at least 30 in his last four seasons.

With a lifetime ERA of 3.88 and that consistency of being in the rotation, Leake would pack some punch to the middle of the D-backs rotation and help solidify their staff from top to bottom.
