Where do Corbin Carroll, Nolan Arenado rank in 1st All-Star voting update?

Phase 1 of the National League All-Star voting had its first update on Monday, with a handful of Arizona Diamondbacks among the top-10 vote-getters at their respective positions.

Outfielder Corbin Carroll saw the most votes among Diamondbacks players with 425,814, though remains outside the top six at his position at eighth.

For Carroll to advance to Phase 2, he’ll need to move up at least two spots before the end of Phase 1 voting at 9 a.m. MST on June 25.

3. Phillies’ Brandon Marsh (668,191)
4. Braves’ Michael Harris II (635,473)
5. Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernandez (507,625)
6. Cardinals’ Jordan Walker (437,071)
7. Nationals’ James Wood (431,607)

Carroll is putting together another strong season, slashing .278/.370/.544 with a .914 OPS. He is pacing MLB in triples with eight, to go along with 12 home runs, 34 RBIs, eight stolen bases and 34 walks to 63 strikeouts.

Diamondbacks third baseman Nolan Arenado is in a similar All-Star voting boat.

Among NL third basemen, Arenado is third (363,091) behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Max Muncy (941,218) and the Philadelphia Phillies’ Alec Bohm (386,425).

Only the top two vote-getters at the position move on to the next round. The same goes for the rest of the infield and designated hitters, while pitchers and reserves will be determined by the MLB Commissioner’s office.

Arenado has recorded eight homers, 31 RBIs and 22 walks to 53 strikeouts in 66 games played this season. He’s added more defense to the infield, too.

What other Diamondbacks made the top 10 in MLB All-Star voting update?

Sitting seventh among NL first basemen is Ildemaro Vargas with 87,590 votes.

Ketel Marte is also ranked seventh among NL second basemen with 256,413 votes.

At catcher, Gabriel Moreno is eighth with 92,127 votes.

When are MLB All-Star teams announced?

Once finalists are named following Phase 1 voting, Phase 2 gets underway at 9 a.m. MST on June 29.

Fans will have until July 2 at 9 a.m. MST to vote for the NL starter at each position. The player with the most Phase 1 votes is automatically a named starter and bypasses the second wave of voting.

Winners at each position will be announced on July 4.
