ASU football added another defensive piece to its 2026 recruiting class and its first linebacker.

Linebacker Oscar Aguilar announced his commitment to the Sun Devils on Tuesday morning.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder out of Downey High School played on both sides of the ball until focusing on defense this past season.

In 2024, Aguilar contributed to a Downey team that went 9-2 and finished first in the Gateway league at 5-0.

He also received offers from Oregon State, Boise State, Cal and Colorado State.

Aguilar is the fourth defensive player Kenny Dillingham and Co. have gained commitments from for 2026 and joins three-star edge Julian Hugo (committed April 10), four-star cornerback Jalen Williams (committed April 5) and three-star safety Zeth Thues (committed Nov. 2024),
