James is a 6-foot-4 guard from out of Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles and member of the 2025 recruiting class.
He is a three-star recruit rated by 247 Sports and Rivals and a four-star prospect via ESPN. 247 Sports ranked him the No. 47 shooting guard in the 2025 class and No. 30 recruit out of California. He also received offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.
His brother and former Sierra Canyon teammate, Bronny James, played one season at USC before the Lakers drafted him in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. He is now a rookie on a two-way contract.
James joins five-star recruit Dwayne Aristode in Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd’s 2025 recruiting class.
Arizona is in its first season playing in the Big 12 and opened the conference slate with a win over TCU. The Wildcats started the season ranked No. 10 in the country but grinded through the nonconference slate with a 6-5 record. The program has won at least 27 games and reached the NCAA Tournament in each of Lloyd’s first three seasons.
Jason Scheer of WildcatAuthority.com reported James visited Arizona for the Wildcats’ home game against Duke and was impressed with Lloyd and the program.
