Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett is ending his time away from the team.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Josh Weinfuss, the veteran signal caller is planning to report for Arizona’s mandatory minicamp kicking off Monday.
His return comes after he remained away from all of Arizona’s voluntary team activities this offseason amid a request to be paid as the starter. Brissett is set to make $1.5 million in guaranteed money and carries a base salary of $4.9 million this year.
During organized team activities, he and the team were reportedly “significantly apart” in contract talks.
While he is expected to report, it remains to be seen just how much he participates as he continues contract negotiations with the franchise. Brissett will avoid potential fines for his attendance.
Brissett went 1-11 for the Cardinals last year after taking over for former franchise QB Kyler Murray in Week 6.
Brissett finished the year tied for 14th in touchdowns (23), seventh in yards per game (240.4) and 14th in total yards (3,366).

Make it interesting. Give all the QB's the same incentive, keep their base salary the same, but a million per win bonus.
Minshew and/or Beck would give the team a better chance to win. Minshew has very recently QB'd a team to a winning record in the midst of a playoff chase.
Beck has won repeatedly at the highest level of college ball.
Brisset is the worst QB on the roster. The majority of his stats were in garbage time when opposing defenses were playing back, trying to run out the clock.
I def like the idea of paying players based on wins.
