TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals are placing offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr. on injured reserve due to a torn biceps, and he will miss the rest of the season, according to head coach Mike LaFleur.

The lineman is expected to undergo surgery soon, LaFleur added.

Johnson went down with the injury during the final moments of the team’s 36-24 loss to the New York Giants in Week 4.

He wasn’t the only injured on Sunday, with safety Andrew Wingard and Isaiah Adams exiting early in the contest.

The starting left tackle has missed at least three games due to injury every year since 2024. His only full season was as a rookie.

It’s unclear if his latest injury will impact contract extension talks. Arizona picked up the lineman’s fifth-year option this past offseason.

With Johnson sidelined, the team has two primary internal options to consider in Josh Fryar and Jayden Williams.

LaFleur told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo that Williams will get the opportunity to play.

Williams has gotten work in as an extra blocker and has been applauded for his work ethic and athleticism since coming aboard as a 2026 seventh-round pick.

Fryar, meanwhile, has appeared in one game this year for the Cardinals and was a healthy inactive in New York.

Unreal. I don't see another win this season. This will only make JB more anxious in the pocket, if there is a pocket...

The time for Minshew/Beck is here.

I think part of the problem is that Michael Bidwill runs an NFL team in a town where providing hoards of transplants with a way to see their home team every once in a while is a viable business plan. He doesn't need to win. People wearing away jerseys buy beer as well.
