What are Jeremiyah Love, others seeing out of Carson Beck early on?

While it's only been a couple months, Love already has a pretty good idea of what Beck is bringing to the table.

TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals rookies Carson Beck and Jeremiyah Love banked a lot reps together through rookie minicamp, organized team activities and veteran minicamp after having only played against each other in college.

That extra time on the field together has only given Love a better idea of what his fellow rookie is all about.

“Carson’s a great football player and even better person. Didn’t know much about him,” Love said Monday. “Heard a lot of different things about him but getting to learn about him in person and actually getting to see him in person, he’s a great person and even better football player — or vice versa, however you want to put it. He’s just a great athlete, great person in general.

“It’s been a blessing to be able to go out on the field and take the field with Carson. Catch some footballs and run some routes with him and just build up that chemistry that we’re going to need on game day. It’s been great. Really looking forward to continuing that in training camp. I’m excited to see where he goes and how he excels.”

Love is bound for touches early on as Arizona looks to bounce back from a dreadful showing on the ground last year and hopes for a quick return on investment from the 2026 No. 3 overall pick.

During Beck’s interview on Arizona Sports’ Cardinals Corner, the quarterback continually went back to Love as someone who stands out both on and off the field when asked about the team’s top playmakers.

As for Beck? That’s still to be determined even if the expectation is for signal caller to find his way into the starting lineup at some point in the year as Arizona evaluates the future of the position.

The pair banking reps now could come in handy when the switch is inevitably made (likely midseason) and Beck is thrust into the starting role.

Love and Beck may have banked more reps than most other tandems this offseason, but the quarterback’s demeanor wasn’t lost on wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

“He’s a baller. I love that he kind of goes out there and just kind of has an attitude that he has a lot of confidence in himself and he kind of can make any throw he wants to make,” Harrison said during the final round of OTAs. “I definitely admire that about him. And he works very hard.”

From a coaching standpoint, first-year head coach Mike LaFleur is seeing Beck’s maturity flash in the meeting room, where the quarterback’s lengthy college resume is coming in handy.

“He asked a question the other day about you know the type of trajectory in a ball. … That was a very mature question. And he liked our answer. I can’t tell you exactly the (the type of trajectory) because no two clips are going to play out the same.

“For him to even be asking those questions and not like, ‘What is my read?’ he’s passed all that. It’s just getting … the guys that are cut from the right cloth — I guess you could say — in terms of understanding ball. They just need reps and the more you can bank reps the better.”

At the very least I bet they play a similar game. It's definitely worth a shot rolling with Beck imo. I did not like him as a college QB, but I do think we have to do our due diligence here and see what he can do at this level or thinks he can do at this level. We have nothing to lose this season.
