Terry McDonough has already interviewed for the vacant San Francisco 49ers GM post, and it appears he has done enough to warrant further consideration.

McDonough is well respected in the NFL and has been seen as a future general manager for some time. He has served as the vice president of player personnel for the Cardinals the last three seasons after joining the organization as a regional scout in 2013.
Paton, whom McDonough seems to be competing with, just finished his 10th season with the Vikings after spending six seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
The 49ers are in need of a general manager after parting with Trent Baalke, who had held the job since 2011.
