It is often said that there is strength in numbers and, if that’s the case, the Arizona Diamondbacks might have the strongest catching situation in all of baseball.
The team already this offseason added Chris Iannetta and Jeff Mathis to a roster that already included Chris Herrmann and Oscar Hernandez, and on Wednesday brought another backstop into the fold.

The D-backs also inked Josh Thole to a minor league contract earlier in the offseason.
Conger, 29, played with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2016, for whom he batted .194 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 124 at-bats. The veteran of seven MLB seasons has also spent time with the Los Angeles Angels and Houston Astros, and is a career .221 hitter with 31 home runs and 114 RBI. He has also struck out 267 times in 1,013 at-bats.
