Dylan Strome is one of the Arizona Coyotes’ top prospects.
The No. 3 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, he appeared in seven games with the Coyotes to start this season but has since been with the Erie Otters of the OHL, where he has amassed 15 goals and 32 assists in 20 games.
Strome’s most recent goal was rather unconventional.
In Wednesday’s game against the London Knights, Strome collided with a defenseman who then lost his stick. So, naturally, he took Strome’s.
Not cool, dude.
But with the Otters still controlling the puck in the offensive zone, Strome looked around and found the defenseman’s stick lying on the ice. So, he skated over, picked it up, continued to play and then scored a goal.
With the following break in the action, Strome and the defenseman each got their sticks back. But the goal — and bragging rights — belong only to Strome.
The Otters won the game 5-1, too.
