Trivia Tuesday: Pac-12 Tournament MVPs
Mar 7, 2017, 6:00 AM
The Pac-12 Tournament begins Wednesday in Las Vegas — a city that has never hosted a team in the conference, but who cares? It’s Vegas!
There has been a total of 19 conference tournaments — including a four-year stretch of Pac-10 tourneys from 1987 to 1990. The event then went on hiatus until 2002, because Lute Olson complained about it or something (at least that’s what we were told).
In the 19 previous tournaments, 18 different players have won the event’s Most Valuable Player award. Only two players have won the award twice and one year, 1990, two players on the same team shared the honor.
That’s your Trivia Tuesday challenge this week, name all the Pac-10/Pac-12 Tournament MVPs in less than seven minutes. Full admission, there are some recognizable names in the bunch and other that will have you consulting Google.
Good luck, and happy March Madness!
* – Only year where two players shared the award
