University of Phoenix Stadium has held plenty of huge sporting events and the NCAA Final Four was another to add to the list.
It was announced during the second half of the second Final Four matchup on Saturday between No. 3 seed Oregon and No. 1 seed North Carolina that a crowd of 77,612 was in attendance.

The mark came close to the record for the national semifinal, set in Dallas in 2014 at nearly 80,000 people in attendance.
That is dramatically more fans than the building typically holds for Arizona Cardinals football games. Average attendance for Cardinals games is about 64,000. The Cardinals have sold out every game since the building opened in 2006.
The stadium can hold thousands of more seats for basketball in what marks the first time the Final Four has been in Arizona.
The stadium has had a handful of major events in the past 10 years, from the Super Bowl to Wrestlemania.
