Arizona Sports Fantasy Football Host League: Week 3 recap

Sep 26, 2017, 2:35 PM | Updated: 2:40 pm

Week 3 of the Fantasy Football season for the 98.7 FM Arizona Sports Host League saw two ties. Find out who those four teams were, who won and more in this week’s recap.

John Gambadoro (Sister Markus Golden Hair): 99
Listener Winner (Dancing with Stanton): 112

The Listener Winner is clearly the powerhouse in the Arizona Sports League. He has scored well into the 100s in the first three weeks of the league. His highest scorer this week was Doug Baldwin, who racked up 26 points, but closely following was Kareem Hunt at 25. On the other hand, Gambo’s highest scorer was Carlos Hyde on Thursday Night Football. Although, three of his nine players scored in the 20s. Hopefully, Gambo can get his first win next week.

Mike Jurecki (Team Jurecki): 108
Doug Franz (I Hate Fantasy): 123

Doug got the win this week, as he had two players score in the 30s with Tom Brady (35) and Stefon Diggs (37). Other than those two, he had a mediocre showing by the rest of his team with only two players scoring in double digits. Mike Jurecki on the other hand, deserves this loss. He left a running back spot OPEN in his lineup. He had four players score in the 20s and probably would have won if he had a full lineup in Week 3.

Dan Bickley (Blinded by the TD’s): 104
Bertrand Berry (Daddy Phat $acks): 104

This was one of TWO ties this week. Bickley’s top scorer was Todd Gurley on Thursday Night Football with 37 points. Unfortunately, he benched Larry Fitzgerald who racked up 33 points on Monday Night Football, which could have given him the victory. On the other hand, B-Train’s top scorer was Odell Beckham with 28 points with Dalvin Cook closely following at 27.

Paul Calvisi (Paulie Pigskins): 131
Vince Marotta (That Booty!): 99

Paul’s team really showed up this week as seven out of nine players scored in double digits. A.J. Green was his leading scorer with 27 points. Rob Gronkowski closely followed with 22. Vince’s team has been strong the first two weeks, but didn’t show its dominance in Week 3. Antonio Brown was his leading scorer with 27 points, but his next top scorers would be Matt Ryan and LeSean McCoy with 13 each.

Ron Wolfley (Team Wolfley): 109
Dave Burns (Bold Strategy Cotton): 109

This was the second of TWO ties this week and it looks like Wolf came to play. His leading scorer was T.Y. Hilton with 28 points, but he had a great showing from Dak Prescott as well. This was a disappointing week for Burnsy. He left 88 points on his bench. Although, his quarterback Kirk Cousins got him 26 points leading his starting lineup.
