Sports stars, pro teams react to Las Vegas mass shooting

On the morning that followed a Las Vegas mass shooting that was the deadliest in U.S. history, those in the sports world gave their reactions and condolences.

Some of those reactions were from those around the UNLV hockey program, which announced Monday morning that the Sunday-night shooting that claimed the lives of at least 50 people had resulted in an injury to assistant head coach Nick Robone.

A Twitter user claiming to be one of Robone’s former players said the Rebels coach was shot in the chest.

Meanwhile, the rest of the sports world took to Twitter to offer their thoughts:

Las Vegas’ only major professional sports franchise, the Vegas Golden Knights, tweeted this statement:

The Knights’ VP of ticketing and suites, Todd Pollock, tweeted:

The Las Vegas 51s, a Triple-A baseball team and affiliate of the New York Mets, tweeted condolences and a photo of a long line coming out of a blood donation facility:
