The Arizona Cardinals signed quarterback Matt Barkley and elevated safety Harlan Miller from the practice squad on Monday after a rash of injuries hit in their Thursday loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Cornerback Jarell Carter was additionally added to the practice squad.

Arizona placed safety Tyvon Branch (knee), tackle D.J. Humphries (knee) and tight end Ifeanyi Momah (ankle) on the injured reserve. All are out for the season.

Barkley is a 27-year-old alumnus of USC who has seen NFL playing time with the Eagles and Bears after spending 2015 on the Cardinals’ inactive list. In six career starts, all last season with Chicago, he completed 61.2 percent of his passes and recorded eight touchdowns with 12 interceptions.

The quarterback, a fourth-round choice by Philadelphia in 2013, joined the San Francisco 49ers this offseason but was released Sept. 1.

Miller, Arizona’s sixth-round draft pick in 2016, played in two games at the end of 2016 for the Cardinals, recording six tackles and an interception.

Carter played for Arizona during the preseason after going undrafted out of Trinity International.
