Justin Thomas wanted the fans at the Waste Management Phoenix Open to be loud for Saturday’s third round action.
He clearly took that into his own hands as he rattled off a string of consecutive birdies that got the crowd going.
Through his first six holes, Thomas went on a rampage, knocking in six — yes, six — straight birdies to not only take an early lead but to also flirt with the all-time consecutive birdies record at TPC Scottsdale.
And while all good things must come to an end as Thomas bogeyed the seventh hole, leaving himself one shot shy of the tying the 1991 record held by J.J. Henry for consecutive birdies at TPC Scottsdale with seven, golf fans from all over provided their two cents on Thomas’ stellar stretch of play.

Six birdies outta the gate for @JustinThomas34 at #tpcscottsdale. I’m not saying we need to be on #59Watch, but we probably need to be on 59 watch. pic.twitter.com/bb6AWhhqFR

Thomas’ quick start allowed him to finish the front nine shooting a six-under 30, but eventually slowed down.
He finished the third round tied for 26th after he shot a 71 on the day.
