Arizona Cardinals restricted free agent Xavier Williams visited with the Kansas City Chiefs over the weekend, reports ESPN’s Field Yates.

It is not known whether Williams was offered a contract, but the Cardinals will be able to match an offer signed by Williams.

NFL teams were able to place a tender offer on each restricted free agent based on what draft pick compensation they would receive should they lose the player.

According to Yates, the Cardinals tendered Williams at the original draft level. Because he was undrafted as a rookie out of Northern Iowa in 2015, that means they will receive no compensation if they choose not to match an offer from the Chiefs or another team.

Williams, who recorded 20 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 2017, is the team’s only restricted free agent this offseason.

Along the defensive line, Arizona could also lose veteran defensive lineman Frostee Rucker, who is an unrestricted free agent.

The team also released defensive end Josh Mauro over the weekend. Mauro was set to visit with the New York Giants on Sunday, reports ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

If Mauro signed with New York, he would play under first-year defensive coordinator and former Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher.
