Former Cardinals DE Josh Mauro suspended four games

Just days after signing with the New York Giants, former Arizona Cardinals defensive end Josh Mauro was suspended for the first four games of 2018 for violating’s the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances, the Giants announced.

Mauro will remain eligible to participate in offseason and preseason practices and games.

Mauro, who was released by the Cardinals last Friday, started seven games in 2017 and made 22 tackles, including one sack. He signed with New York on Monday, joining former Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher.

Entering his fifth year, Mauro played more than 13 games for Arizona in each of the last three seasons and was a free agent signing out of Stanford in 2014.
