NAU’s Cameron Jones gives Suns a look

The Phoenix Suns had an Arizona flavor to their draft workout Tuesday, as Northern Arizona’s Cameron Jones was in town to give the team a look.

Jones, who averaged 20.1 points per game for the Lumberjacks last season, is a likely target for a second round selection or as an undrafted free agent. The Suns, though, don’t currently possess pick in the second round.

“We saw him play two or three times this year, so it was a good chance for us to get him in,” Suns director of player personnel John Treloar said of Jones. “He’s a very physical guard.”

At six-foot-four it is hard to see where Jones would fit with the Suns. More of a slasher than a shooter, he is a little small to be a shooting guard at the next level. Thus, Jones would likely have to transition to the point if he hopes to have an NBA career.
