One person thinks the Suns will make a trade

Will Lon Babby, Lance Blanks and the Phoenix Suns do their best Monty Hall impersonation before next week’s draft and make a deal? One person sure seems to think so.
Mickael Pietrus’ agent, Bill McCandless, told the Arizona Republic’s Paul Coro Tuesday that he has a sneaking suspicion changes are coming to the Suns’ roster.
“I’d be surprised if Lon (Babby, Suns president of basketball operations) doesn’t make a couple deals on draft day or later,” McCandless said. “If you have a surplus in one position and a need in another, guess what?
“But if he (Pietrus) comes back, he’s looking forward to having a full training camp. It’s not the easiest thing, for any player, to be traded and go from Coaching Style A to Coaching Style B and from Management Style A to Management Style B.”
Pietrus, who exercised a player option to remain with the Suns on Monday, could be a likely candidate to be traded if the Suns are in fact looking to move a wing player.
Does McCandless have some kind of inside information or guarantee from the club? We’re guessing not, but with common sense, and a lack of minutes for Pietrus after joining the club last December, we can see where he’d come to the conclusion his client could be on the move.
The Suns have a lot of work to do this offseason to get back to the playoffs. That work begins next Thursday. Just how much of it they get done all depends on their willingness to play the NBA’s version of ‘Let’s Make a Deal’.
