Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Jake Lamb has made some progress as he works his way back from a shoulder injury he suffered earlier in April.

Lamb played in an extended spring game on Tuesday at DH and is planning on play third base tomorrow in a similar game, he said to the media Tuesday.

“The shoulder feels great,” Lamb said via Fox Sports Arizona. “They know that.”

Lamb was seen taking grounders prior to Tuesday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field.

On April 3, Lamb was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained left AC joint. On two separate occasions on April 2 during the D-backs’ matchup with the Dodgers, Lamb was seen favoring his left shoulder. He dove for a foul ball in the ninth inning and scored the game-tying run on a slide at home plate in the bottom of the 15th inning.

Despite Lamb and Steven Souza Jr. being the primary sources of power in the D-backs’ batting order outside of Paul Goldschmidt, they have maintained success offensively without them.

Entering Tuesday’s action across MLB, the D-backs are tied for 13th in home runs with 17 and eighth in runs scored at 77.
