The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled reliever Jimmie Sherfy and are optioning long reliever Braden Shipley back to Triple-A Reno.
Sherfy, who made his MLB debut late last season, has appeared in just three games for Arizona this season, walking two and striking out one in 2.0 innings while recording a hold.

Shipley also has three appearances for the D-backs this season. He went 2.0 innings Monday behind starting pitcher Shelby Miller’s 2018 debut, allowing four hits and four earned runs to go with two strikeouts and two walks.
Previously, Shipley appeared on June 11 and 12 against the Pirates, combining to go 3.0 innings without allowing a baserunner.
