Bickley & Marotta: Grateful or grumpy Zack Greinke answer?

98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s Bickley & Marotta played a game involving Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke and his even-keeled personality with the media.

Greinke, not known for changing his tone much when he speaks to the media, can come across as hard to read when it comes to his mood.

So, with that in mind, Bickley & Marotta decided to put together clips of Greinke speaking after wins and losses. The two hosts then had to declare if that was “Grateful Greinke” or “Grumpy Greinke.”

Marotta guessed “Grumpy Greinke” on the first cut and was correct. With no difference at all in the second cut, Bickley called out “Grateful Greinke” and was correct.

Marotta joked he nodded off during Greinke’s third answer, and again, the answer of “Grumpy Greinke” was correct.

Finally, though, the hosts were incorrect. Greinke had an answer to a question in which he called his command “really good” and the “best command I’ve had.”

Bickley guessed “Grateful Greinke,” surely with that answer coming after a winning effort. Actually, it was not, and the hosts were stumped by Greinke’s tone.

In the last clip, Greinke did have a pinch more of energy and that was enough for Bickley to catch that it followed a victory.

As the hosts discussed, the specific quality of Greinke’s personality with the media isn’t a bad thing, unless he decided his next career was as a talk show host.
