The Arizona Cardinals added cornerback Deatrick Nichols to their practice squad on Wednesday, two days after they waived him from the 53-man roster in order to sign veteran receiver Kendall Wright.

The 5-foot-10, 189-pound Nichols appeared in two games this year as a special teamer, recording one tackle.

The 24-year-old rookie is an alumnus of South Florida.

He signed as an undrafted free agent with Arizona in May.
