Oregon’s E.J. Singler works out with Suns

The Phoenix Suns brought in eight draft prospects to work out on Wednesday morning. While the majority of the prospects were considered potential lottery picks, Oregon’s E.J. Singler went in trying to make a name for himself, as well.

Singler, a 6-foot-6 guard, played all four years in Eugene and started 114 consecutive games. During his senior season in 2012-13, he led the Ducks to the Sweet 16, where they fell to the eventual NCAA champion Louisville.

“I can play the two or the three,” Singler said, “My skill set is understanding the game of basketball and becoming a knock-down shooter.”

Singler finished his Oregon career as the 11th all-time leading scorer in program history with 1,546 points. He hit 168 three-point shots, which was good for 10th in school’s history.

“I would do really well with the Suns,” Singler said on his fit with Phoenix. “Jeff [Hornacek] wants to go up and down and I can do that.”

Singler is the younger brother of former Duke star Kyle Singler, who was picked No. 33 overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.
