Less than four months ago, Patrick Peterson was putting out the fire.

His trade demands led to meetings with his Arizona Cardinals bosses and ultimately a rescinding of those demands.

Peterson’s apology to Arizona fans just two weeks ago while golfing at the Waste Management Phoenix Open Pro-Am was a sign he is serious about remaining in Arizona. He also expressed excitement about playing under new Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.

Peterson on Tuesday went to Twitter to, perhaps, improve his current franchise. He requested a phone conversation with disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown.

The timing of Peterson’s very brief recruitment letter message came 20 minutes after Brown posted a video montage of himself playing for the Steelers along with a thank-you to fans:

“Thank you SteelerNation for a big 9 years…time to move on and forward……..✌🏼 #NewDemands”

With that, Brown formally requested a trade from the Steelers on Tuesday, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This comes after the 30-year-old left the Steelers on bad terms to end last season.

Brown caught 104 balls for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns, the latter of which led the NFL in 2018. He would certainly be a boon on the field for the Cardinals, who will have veteran Larry Fitzgerald and second-year pro Christian Kirk leading a receiving corps that struggled in 2018.

Brown will be paid a bonus of $2.5 million if he remains on Pittsburgh’s roster on March 17, and that amount would be a cap hit for the Steelers if they don’t move him before then, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

The receiver is owed $12.6 million next season, $11.3 million in 2020 and $12.5 million in 2021.
