Phoenix Suns lose a heartbreaker to Kings: By the Numbers

For the second game in a row, the Phoenix Suns had their opponent right where they wanted them. For the second game in a row the Suns let their opponent off the hook.
Phoenix boasted an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter before they slowly let the game slip away.
While a poor third quarter cost the Suns a win on Wednesday, it was a poor fourth quarter that allowed the Sacramento Kings to comeback and force overtime.
The Suns had leads in both the first and second overtimes, but did not have one when it counted the most — the final buzzer.
Sacramento completed its comeback on a Rudy Gay turnaround jumper with 1:07 remaining in the second overtime. A Darren Collison free throw extended the Kings’ lead to two. Phoenix missed a pair of shots as time expired, falling 114-112 and dropping to 3-3 on the season.
The Suns have now lost two games in a row, both at home, after starting the season 3-1 (2-0 at home).

In a revenge game against his former team, Isaiah Thomas made just one shot — a three pointer. Thomas never attempted a two-point shot and finished with four assists and a rebound. He missed a potential game-winning 3 at the end of regulation.

Guards Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic were on fire for most of the night, combining to score 45 points. Bledsoe added eight assists and five rebounds to his 23 points, while Dragic grabbed three boards and had four helpers to add to his 22 points.

Number of fouls by forward Markieff Morris who fouled out of the game in the fourth quarter. He left the game with 16 points, three rebounds and two blocks.

Miles Plumlee led all Suns with 16 rebounds. It was his top performance on the boards this season and his best since Apr. 4 against Portland (also 16).
