The Phoenix Suns made it official with undrafted free agent Jalen Lecque on Saturday.
Lecque is set to make his debut with the Suns in the NBA Summer League on Sunday in Las Vegas after signing with the team on Saturday, according to a release.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound point guard comes to Phoenix straight out of high school. He was originally committed to NC State but stayed for a fifth year at Brewster Academy.
He declared for the 2019 NBA Draft, according to USA Today, eligible as a high school player because of his age and being a year removed from his original high school class.
He averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds this past season.
Lecque was the second point guard Phoenix acquired on draft day, joining Virginia’s Ty Jerome. Phoenix traded next year’s Milwaukee 2020 first-round pick to get Jerome with the 24th pick and Boston Celtics center Aron Baynes.
In addition to Lecque, the Suns have Ricky Rubio, Elie Okobo, Tyler Johnson and Ty Jerome as guards who can run the point next season.
