GLENDALE, Ariz. — Expect to see a lot more of quarterback Kyler Murray in the Arizona Cardinals’ second preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.

How much more than the 11 snaps he earned last week against the Chargers is anyone’s guess.

“I don’t know how much more but we’ll see how the game’s going,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “But definitely more than one drive.”

Murray said he felt “pretty smooth” against the Chargers and after watching film didn’t uncover anymore takeaways.

“I didn’t play enough,” the rookie said Monday, four days after throwing for 44 yards and completing 6 of 7 passes.

The Cardinals, however, will continue working out the kinks and determining how their offenses looks come the regular season.

Kingsbury has remained secretive in that process, only adding that personnel will dictate things. And Arizona must continue building for the regular season without putting any game-planning or complex concepts on film during the preseason.

“I kind of know what it looks like so I know it’ll work,” Murray said of the spread offense installed by Kingsbury that is similar to the one he ran in college at Oklahoma.

“It’s hard to prepare for this, what we will do when the season comes. But for right now, I mean, we’re not running our offense. Part of it is our offense but at the same time we’re not game-planning for anyone right now. We’re just going out there and trying to execute what he calls.”

Extra points

— Starting left guard Justin Pugh (shoulder) will likely not play or practice this week, but Kingsbury is hopeful he can play on Saturday, Aug. 24, against the Minnesota Vikings in Arizona’s third preseason game.

— Safety D.J. Swearinger intercepted his first pass of camp on Monday during team drills.

— Receiver Trent Sherfield closed the practice with a twisting, leaping catch and found the end zone on a deep ball thrown by backup quarterback Brett Hundley.

— The Cardinals will rely more on veteran defensive lineman Terrell McClain following the release of defensive end Darius Philon after Philon’s assault arrest over the weekend.

“I think Terrell’s a guy who’s had success in this league, a pro’s pro, shows up, works hard, knows his assignment,” Kingsbury said. “He’s a guy we’re counting on to step up and have a prominent role.”

— Kingsbury, on if he believes there is a larger organizational problem after the suspected DUI arrest of executive vice president and chief operating officer Ron Minegar on Saturday: “No. We released our statement yesterday as an organization on what occurred and I’ll just leave that at that. My experience here has been incredible — show up everyday honored and inspired to be here.”
