The new year is three weeks old. There has been a little time to reflect
and gather our minds around what happened in 2010. Now, the time is to
look forward.
In keeping it simple and broad throughout the entire state, we asked
ArizonaSports.com contributors to give one prediction they had for the
2011 calendar year.
What is your one prediction? Do you completely disagree with a prediction
from below.
Mark Asher |
In 2011 the Phoenix Suns will trade Steve Nash to a contending team. It most likely will be by the deadline but could happen in the offseason as well. I think Lon Babby will realize his team is going nowhere and start to rebuild with his last tradeable piece. It will be a sad day but I predict it will happen. |
Tyler Bassett |
A team from the state of Arizona will lose against Oregon in the inaugural Pac-12 Championship game in December. |
Dave Burns |
ASU football will win the Pac-12 South. With most of their players coming back and a home friendly schedule the Sun Devils are poised to be the first local team to enjoy some success in 2011. |
Greg Esposito |
A White Out will come to Glendale. It will be the first time on a weeknight that more than 11,000 fans watch anything on ice other than a Disney show or a cocktail in the Valley and the Phoenix Open, a golf tournament mind you, will still play host to the rowdiest crowd in all of Arizona sports. |
Doug Franz | None of the four franchises will win a championship. |
John Gambadoro |
Coming off a miserable 5-11 season I see 2011 having the first television blackout at the University of Phoenix Stadium. |
Adam Green |
The Arizona Wildcats will find themselves searching for a new head football coach. |
Ron Wolfley |
I think the Arizona Cardinals will trade for Philadelphia Eagles QB, Kevin Kolb. They need to fix the QB position and get this offense back on track and Kolb seems to be the best option in a QB depleted league. |
