GLENDALE, AZ - SEPTEMBER 11: Fans adorn the Pat Tillman statue with American flags in honor of the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks following the NFL season opening game between the Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals at the University of Phoenix Stadium on September 11, 2011 in Glendale, Arizona. The Super Bowl introduction featured a kid running with a football through the city, across the country, past famous athletes of multiple sports, with people telling him, “Take it to the house, kid.”

He ran and ran and ran, only stopping once.

The kid stopped by the Pat Tillman statue in front of State Farm Stadium and stared reverentially at it for a few seconds before continuing on his way.

Twitter reacted to the moment.

Finally, the kid arrived at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. He was greeted in the tunnel by football legends.

The kid stepped through the tunnel and the commerical ended, changing the view to the real stadium as a group of kids representing each NFL team ran through.

“Here’s to the Next 100,” the segment flashed on the screen.

With that, Super Bowl LIV began
