The Arizona Cardinals scored a quick touchdown against the Washington Football Team on Sunday.

Then neither team could hold onto the ball for longer than a couple plays.

After Arizona went up 7-0 less than six minutes into the game, the teams started playing hot potato. WFT went on a five-play drive and punted, which set up a string of turnovers:

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray threw an interception; Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins was strip-sacked by Jordan Phillips, which Chandler Jones caught in the air. Arizona then had a three-and-out and punted, only to see WFT’s Steven Sims Jr. fumble the ball as he was tackled on what had been a good punt return.

From there, the Cardinals had possession at the 40-yard line. Like the last drive they started in Washington territory, they would not waste this opportunity.

Over the final 2:44 of the first quarter, the Cardinals rushed four times and had two passes. Murray completed both throws and had a pair of the runs, ending the drive with a 14-yard touchdown.

There would be no interception from him this drive. Arizona would not have to punt or settle for a field goal.

The Cardinals grabbed a 14-0 lead to end the first quarter.
