The Arizona Diamondbacks rebounded to split their two-game series against San Diego with a 6-1 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
Daniel Hudson was solid pitching seven innings only giving up one run on eight hits.
The D-backs starter struggled to get lead-off hitter Chris Denorfia out, as he had three hits in the game, but managed to get out of major trouble every time San Diego had runners on base.
Hudson improved his record to 4-5 and lowered his ERA to 4.05 in the process.
Arizona was able to get to Padres starter Tim Stauffer knocking him out of the game in the sixth inning after giving up four runs.
Justin Upton, Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra led the D-back offense getting two hits apiece with Montero and Parra each having two RBI’s.
Arizona(18-23) continues their homestand with another two-game set against the Atlanta Braves starting Wednesday.
