Linebacker Chandler Jones was tweeting like his usual positive self on Monday morning after he left the social media site Sunday night by posting “On to Dallas!”
A day after he left the Arizona Cardinals’ win over the New York Jets with a biceps injury, it was curious as to whether Jones may have gotten good news — even though head coach Kliff Kingsbury already made the leap Sunday by suggesting he feared Jones’ injury was season-ending.
Asked if he was all good by one Twitter user, Jones’ reply Monday wasn’t what the Cardinals and their fans want to hear.
“Physically. No,” he wrote back.

Jones was getting an MRI on Monday, Kingsbury said Monday, saying the team will consider all options for his recovery.
Mentally, it was clear Jones had remained positive even in the middle of the game. Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk said in his postgame meeting with reporters that Jones returned to the sidelines after his biceps injury with a smile on his face.
“It’s definitely a heartbreaking loss for us, but if there’s anybody that can handle something like that it’s Chandler,” Kirk said. “He’s going to be with us the whole entire way.”
Jones was caught by TV cameras after the injury attempting to push off a stationary blocker in teammate Jordan Phillips on the Cardinals’ sideline. He would then go to the locker room before the team ruled him out with a biceps injury.
Kingsbury said after the game that the biceps injury, if confirmed, would “probably” be season-ending.
Arizona suffered additional injuries in its 30-10 win.
Right guard J.R. Sweezy left the game with an elbow issue, and Justin Pugh also missed snaps to put backup guards Justin Murray and Max Garcia on the field at the same time.
Additionally, rookie nose tackle Rashard Lawrence was “rolled up on,” according to Kingsbury, and suffered what was labeled a calf issue. He did not return.
