Inside the Box for July
15, 2011: Dodgers 6, Diamondbacks 4
The Good:
As has been the case seemingly all season, the
Diamondbacks rallied from a
6-0 deficit to get to a point where the tying run was at
the plate in the ninth
inning. They got there because of some big hits, including
a three-run home
run by Xavier Nady in the seventh.
The Bad:
The Diamondbacks were sloppy, plain and simple. Nady
committed an error
that led to a run while Willie Bloomquist was thrown out
on the bases twice
(once at home, once being picked off at first).
Aaron Heilman struggled again, giving up a pair of runs in
his one inning of
work. The two he gave up proved to be the difference.
The Funky:
None of the four runs the D-backs scored against the
Dodgers were earned.
