Arizona Diamondbacks cautious about trade deadline

It is no secret that the Arizona Diamondbacks want to improve their bullpen at the trade deadline.

However, they are cautious in their pursuit and do not want to give away too much.

The D-backs willingness to be cautious is both a positive and a negative.

It is a good sign that the team wants to build for the future and that they are confident their prospects will be able to help them win in 2012, 2013 and beyond.

However, the San Francisco Giants are winning and recently acquired Carlos Beltran from the New York Mets.

If the D-backs want to keep pace with the defending World Champions they are going to need to make a move.

Sometimes it is beneficial to be cautious, but if the D-backs are not careful they will exert too much caution, fail to make a trade and miss the 2011 playoffs.
