Inside the Box: Good to see you, offense

After every Arizona Diamondbacks game we’ll examine the
box score and

Inside the Box for
September 21, 2011: Diamondbacks 8, Pirates 5
The Good:
The offense returned for the Diamondbacks in a big way, as Aaron Hill, Justin Upton, Miguel Montero, Chris Young and Ryan Roberts all drove in runs.
Montero’s two-run homer in the first gave the D-backs an early cushion, and a five-run third inning put the game out of reach.
The Bad:
The offense having done its part, you’d hope the pitching staff would still do a good job. They did good enough.
Wade Miley allowed two runs in five innings of work, but Micah Owings, Bryan Shaw and Brad Ziegler each gave up a run to let the game get a little closer than necessary.
The Funky:
The Diamondbacks stole a franchise-record four bases in the first inning, as Willie Bloomquist, Aaron Hill, Lyle Overbay and Chris Young all swiped a bag.
